My current soap-making journey all began when two friends asked me to teach them to make soap. Although it had been more than 10 years since I had last made soap, I agreed to take on the challenge.

Over two days isn’t the best for razor burn for me, but your soap did well, even against the odds. I swapped to a new blade and shaved the next morning and then again today.

  • The lather quality was excellent. It's the best of any shave soap I’ve used. It is thick and holds the foam well. It takes a little more water to get a good lather than I’m used to, but that is here nor there. Brushes make a big difference in the lather quality as well. The softer the bristles, the better the lather, in my experience.

  • The scent is good—not too strong, maybe a little too cedary for me, but good nonetheless. My current soap smells like my grandmother's perfume, so it was a nice change!

  • The razor glide was good. I didn’t have any nicks except for the first shave, which was a combination of stubble and an old blade. The post-shave feel was a little tender and irritated after the first couple of shaves, but it was minimal. After the third shave, I think my skin was more adjusted and used to the soap, leaving me with zero irritation.

  • As I mentioned, the size is great. The diameter is perfect and fits well in my bowls; most are too big around. A taller bar would not affect that. I like the packaging; it was very nice, and the quality of some high-end soaps I use. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!

  • Re: Verge Shave Soap - Lather quality was great! It was very easy to shave and liked how foamy it was. Scent was good but did feel the scent did not last long and would like to have more scent. Razor glide was great! It did not feel dry or rough compared to others. I really enjoyed the shaving soap and would like to try your other scents!
